Prayer Life

The Catechism of the Catholic Church (Part Four) reminds us that prayer is the living relationship of the children of God with their Father who is good beyond measure, with His Son Jesus Christ and with the Holy Spirit. Thus, the life of prayer is the habit of being in the presence of God and in communion with Him made possible through Baptism. All are called to this union with God lived daily through this communion. But especially, are those who have consecrated themselves to God called to this union.
Like the life of Our Blessed Mother, our lives as religious sisters are animated and sustained by a deep life of prayer - personal, communal and liturgical.

Our life of contemplative service is a loving response to our call of complete union with Jesus Christ. For each of us, prayer lights our way by allowing us to contemplate the ordinary things of life with the eyes of Faith, and there, to find God.
The joyous deepening of our personal knowledge and commitment to Jesus is realized by sustained times of silent, private prayer. Eucharistic Adoration, meditation, spiritual reading and daily duties, performed in recollected silence, are carefully integrated throughout our day. Fortified by contemplative union with our Spouse, Jesus Christ, our duties - great or small - take on His own life. “”People have to feel that through you Someone else is at work. To the extent that you live your total consecration to the Lord, you communicate something of Him...for Whom the heart is longing.” (John Paul II, Altotting)
Raising our hearts and minds to God as a united, religious family also has an essential place in our lives. Each day we gather together in a mutual and united response to God’s love as we assist at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass or offer the Liturgy of the Hours. Assisted by the presence and example of our sisters and uniting with the heart of Mary, Mother of the Church, we offer Our Divine Lord, adoration, intercession, praise and thanksgiving.
Whether we are alone in adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, praying the Liturgy of the Hours in community, or participating in Holy Mass, our prayer is characterized by our Consecration to Jesus through Mary.
“We will try to make our prayer from the heart, dear Jesus, for we will make it from the Heart of Thy Mother. What she would have us say: what she would have us ask for, that we will ask for: whatever graces that dear Mother’s Heart would entreat Thee for, these we will beg of Thee to bestow, for she knows our needs better than we do ourselves... Let her present your prayers: attend at Mass with her: receive Holy Communion with her: so will you please God and render your prayer acceptable in His sight, for if you go to prayer in the company of Mary...you will never go unprepared.“ (Mother Mary Potter)
