On the Feast of the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica, the Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Church professed vows in the presence of the Most Rev. Blase J. Cupich at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes.

Our General Chapter was held in preparation for our upcoming vow ceremony. Re-elected as Mother General was Mother Kathryn Joseph. In addition, her Council members include Sr. Mary Elizabeth, Sr. Maria Consuela, and Sr. Mary Eucharista.

Sr. Margarite Marie and Sr. Paschalina Marie attended the high-school youth retreat with their youth group from St. Peter Parish. The retreat was held at Shoshone Base Camp and its theme was..."THRIVE"!

Fr. Daniel Maxwell, pastor of Our Lady of the Angels Parish in Hermiston, Oregon, invited the Sisters to give a vocations talk to young ladies in the Hermiston and Pendleton areas. Mother Kathryn Joseph, Sr. Maria Consuela, Sr. Mary Joanna, and Sr. Erin, also made an additional stop in Walla Walla, visiting St. Francis Parish and the Daltoso family. It was a fascinating road-trip back to Spokane with a few unexpected sites to stop and enjoy!

Immaculate Heart Retreat Center hosted the annual Diocesan Mary Day event on the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima.

The Sisters were invited to St. Patrick's Parish in Walla Walla as parishioners celebrated their patron's feast day!

Sr. Mary Joanna gave a retreat on the spiritual life to the 7th and 8th graders at St. Charles School.

Mother Kathryn Joseph and Sr. Maria Consuela traveled to St. Louis to attend the formators' workshop given by the Council of Major Superiors of Women Religious. They also had the opportunity to visit with the Sisters of St. Francis of the Martyr St. George.

The Sisters were invited to sing at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes during the novena held in honor of Our Lady.

On February 9, the Sisters received tickets to attend the Gonzaga Univeristy vs. St. Mary's boys' basketball game. Gonzaga beat St. Mary's 73-59!

The Sisters facilitate the first of ten episodes of Fr. Robert Barron's "Catholicism Project". This series will be facilitated on the last Tuesday of each month from January - December.

FOCUS - Fellowship of Catholic University Students - Sr. Mary Eucharista and Sr. Mary Joanna had the opportunity of attending the 2011 FOCUS Conference and also visit St. Walburga's Abbey.

Mother Kathryn Joseph and Sister Margarite Marie attended the consistory for Cardinal-designate Raymond L. Burke.

Three of our Sisters attended the Catholic Family Conference this fall. The event was held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Kirkland, Washington. The Keynote speaker was Dr. Ray Guarendi, host of EWTN's "The Doctor Is In."
