Mother Kathryn Joseph,SMMC and Sr. Margarite Marie,SMMC  travel to Rome for to honor Cardinal Burke. This trip was made possible by generous funding from some friends in St. Louis of Sr. Margarite.   Before entering our community, Sr. Margarite (Valerie Stringer)  was the sacristan at the St. Louis Basilica Cathedral.      Bishop Blase J. Cupich will be installed as the new bishop of the diocese of Spokane.  Some of the sisters were able to meet the new bishop briefly when Bishop Skylstad brought him to see the Retreat Center.

 

 

 

August 22

 

         4 postulants have become novices!   Please pray for them.

 

Sr. Natalia Juzyn will be known as Sr. John Paul.  Sr. Valerie Stringer will be known as Sr. Margarite Marie.   Sr. Tara Peters will be know as Sr. Paschalina Maria. Sr. Drisana Spratt will be known as Sr. Maria Faustina.

Kansas - Midwest Catholic Family Conference -  August 8

Some of our sisters participated in the 11th Annual Midwest Catholic Family Conference. Pictured above are three SMMC sisters with Sr. Maria Christi, OSB and Sr. Mary Clare,OSB.  These are Olivetan Benedictines from Holy Angels Convent in Jonesboro, Arkansas. 

 

 

Together with two sisters of the Holy Cross from Detroit, Sr. Maria Pacis and Sr. Maria Helena, (pictured to the left) the sisters  oversaw the children's program during the conference.

 

 

 

July 8-11

 

  Sr. Teresa Christe is helping out with the MIY Camp at the Powell Butte Retreat Center near Bend, Oregon.
